Meet the Doula
Hi! My name is Ibura (pronounced ee-bor-ah). I’m located in St. Louis, MO and I am passionate about reproductive justice. I have been practicing as a doula since 2022 and have supported a variety of birth experiences.
My middle name is Ayele (pronounced ah-yea-lay), which means “Powerful” in Amharic. I created Ayele Doula Care to show my clients throughout their birthing journeys just how powerful they are. I will provide you with compassionate, empathetic, non- judgmental, and culturally competent doula support. My role is to provide you with the knowledge and support you need to advocate for the birth you desire.
I’m happy to answer any questions you have.

Research suggests that the continuous support of a doula during labor can shorten the length of labor, reduce use of pain medications, and increase positive birth outcomes for mom and baby. A doula will help you prepare for your birthing experience and help maintain a calm, safe space for you during labor.

No, not at all. A doula is an additional member of the birth team whose role is to support you and your partner throughout pregnancy and birth. As a doula, I can coach your partner in how best to support you during labor and answer any questions they may have.
